Works Progress Architecture, Solomon Cordwell Buenz, and Carmel Partners recently broke ground of a highly anticipated, innovative, 35-story mixed-use high-rise development in the heart of the LA Arts District.

Alloy is a mixed-use development offering 475 live/work lofts and over 125,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and office space. Applauded by the Los Angeles Planning Commission, 520 Mateo meets the city’s high environmental standards and it’s innovative typology adds much-needed work/live space to the neighborhood.

The development consists of two buildings: the tower which holds shops, restaurants, and lofts, and a six-story office and mixed-use building. An old railroad spur connecting Mateo Street to Santa Fe Avenue will become a vibrant pathway of the project. The site is near South Santa Fe Avenue, Palmetto Street, Mateo Street, and East Fourth Place.
