This residential hall for Concordia University is located as the first phase of a central city urban site. To accommodate future expansion, the building mass is conceived as simple building blocks that are allowed to ventilate providing light and air at common corridors as well as a central collection of interlocking gathering spaces culminating in a roof terrace. Situated along a major commercial street, the secondary street grid offsets from east to west, metering the spread of the building blocks and reinforcing urban alignments.
