Mission Ballroom
“We’ve built something that this town, I believe, has never seen."
—AEG Presents Rocky Mountain CEO Chuck Morris
One of the most anticipated projects WPA’s has been working on in the past years, the venue Mission Ballroom in Denver has opened its doors in August 2019.
Mission Ballroom is a new, ground-up music venue and part of a 14-acre mixed-use development in the RiNo Arts District of Denver’s downtown. Designed as a prototype with AEG Worldwide, this state-of-the-art structure features a unique flexibility that allows the venue to shape and transform depending on the capacity needed. A movable stage was designed to accommodate as little as 2,200 guests and as many as 4,000 – creating the feel of a sold-out room, no matter the scale of show.
The energy of a flat floor club, VIP experience, and bowl-shaped tiered stadium are combined, promising excellent views from every seat in the house. Situated center-stage above the dance floor hangs a 900-pound, 8-foot diameter disco ball created by artist Mike Lustig. Two large bars are located to the east and west of the venue’s interior. Another two bars can be found in the lobby and second floor.
Bold designs permeate throughout the site, contextually connecting Mission Ballroom to the surrounding RiNo Arts District. The interior and exterior are decorated with murals by local artists that reference nearby street art and colorful boxcars at the Union Pacific Rail Yard. The large open-space plaza connecting the 14-acre development feature food carts, a halfpipe, and a miniature version of the Eiffel Tower – offering excitement for every guest at the party.
