Blackbird

Blackbird is a progressive development of five attached rowhouses on an urban infill site. Each unit is roughly 1,000 sf dispersed across three floors.

The exterior is clad with fully charred, black shou sugi ban siding. Ribbed metal screens overlay some windows, filtering light into living spaces while also offering privacy. Street facing individual entrances lead up to an open living level that includes a private north facing balcony. The second floor balconies are crafted from wood and metal screens giving an elevated view to the north for each unit.
