Epic
Contrary to indoor-venue design, local building code requirements mandated extensive facade glazing that created an acoustic challenge. W.PA programmed the areas around the main room to create a double-shell, oriented the venue to direct sound away from the adjacent luxury hotel, added two layers of sound attenuation at the rear of the main room, and clad the interior with fully grouted block for soundproofing.
The facade design nods towards the local art industry and larger aesthetic choices within the surrounding landscape and built environment.
