300b is a 2,000 seat modern music venue primarily for rock music performances. The plan is a simple configuration of service against the existing warehouse building to the east, with stage, audience space, and public ambulatory stack to the west. Public circulation is via a series of warped floors and ramps up the west façade with expansive pockets that form a sequence of vertical gathering spaces arrayed up the west elevation. The small footprint imposes a compressive force, and the resulting internal pressure is allowed to distort the front façade towards the ambulatory space, creating a gradation of viewing experiences, from stage front to the open bar areas in the back, to sitting areas with views of the city.
