Shift
A sister project to Nomad, Shift embodies the idea of transition. Like a change in a vehicle’s gears or the movement from one place to another, the design concept speaks to the fluid way in which we navigate modern life. Architecture meets mobility in its exploration of movement.
The façade alternates between vertical panels of dark and light. Together with the rhythm of oriel windows across the exterior they create a distinct visual identity for the structure. The ground floor entry and interior lobby are clad with a cedar screen, adding warmth and contrast to the clean, modern palette.
The 73-unit, transit-oriented, multifamily development is located two blocks from a major public transit station in a vibrant North Portland neighborhood. The highly efficient studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units are accompanied by several resident amenities including a large, secure bike storage room – further promoting navigation to the city’s larger fabric. A standout feature of the property is its rooftop terrace, which offers residents a relaxing outdoor area with sweeping views of the city and nearby natural landscapes. Equipped with seating areas and shaded pergolas, the rooftop provides an excellent communal space for socializing, leisure, and enjoying the scenic beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
